The Saltonstall Vineyards
Located in the Petaluma Gap within the Appellation of Sonoma Coast, Saltonstall Vineyards sit in an enviable location for growing superior Pinot Noir grapes. Our forty acre hillside location gently slopes from a elevation on 375 to the base of the Saltonstall Lake at 250 feet.
Cool coastal air blankets the vineyards in the evening and early mornings during the summer months creating a desirable diurnal range of over 40 degrees. This contrast between warm days and cool nights adds complexity to the fruit and the resulting wine.
Many well known winery names source their fruit from this vineyard and in 2008 we held back 30 tons of grapes for our own production. The resulting vintage created a wonderful rich and complex Pinot Noir with subtle cherry, spice and vanilla.
Since that first vintage we have expanded our production and are now producing three wines, including a sparkling wine, from this fine estate.
Come visit our estate and enjoy the Saltonstall hospitality.
